Again, Sal's antics draw a soft laugh from Jovan. It amazes him that someone with so much trauma still has a sense of humor. "Okay, Mr. Overachiever. Try lifting some of those droopy lower branches near the ground. You'll see ones you can actually reach underneath. Remember, if they don't practically fall off when you wiggle them gently, they're not ready."
In the meantime, Jovan starts searching through the fallen ones for those that haven't split or started to spoil. He stacks them carefully in the bin, not wanting them to bruise.
